There is absolutely no better way to show you exactly how much snow we got over all our property in one picture than from an airplane, except for a helicopter :) . Here are some shots Josh and I got while we were on our Civil Air Patrol Orientation Flight. The first picture is of our house. The one below is a picture of the Green Mountain Airport, we landed there so Josh and I could switch seats.

The final picture is one Josh took of a ship in the Columbia river. Over all, it was a fun flight, but still not as good as my helicopter flight, even though it was six times as long!!!

Last Saturday

Last Saturday, as many of you probably already know, I got to "fly" a helicopter. I say "fly" because I was not in complete control, I was only using the cyclic while the CFI controlled the collective and ruder. The whole flight lasted a grand total of 17 minutes and I got to "fly" for about six of them. After we got out of Delta Airspace, I got a chance at flying straight and level. I was amazed at how little you need to move the cyclic to get a size able response. I made a left turn over the Columbia River and gave the controls back to the CFI so he could demonstrate a autorotation. We started the autorotation at about 1,000 ft, he cut throttle and lowered the collective and we began the decent. At about 50 ft AGL (above ground level) he did a power recovery and we flew back to the airport. If I ever get around to it, my parents videoed the take off and landing so I may post a link to it in the near future.

Other things going on currently: our family is fighting the flu and they canceled tomorrows Gileskirk class (Yay!). I am also working on finishing two websites and starting two others. I am hoping to make a blog about helicopters and related information and (I know, I am bad) it will have adds on it. The whole reason for the site is to make traffic and the traffic will be clicking on the adds with information related to helicopter stuff and thereby generating income to fund my college degree, in helicopters of course.

I know this stuff is probably boring to all you guys (and gals, if they even ever bother to read my blog) but I find it really cool. So, until next post(however long it may be) have fun!

When I woke up this morning there was snow on the ground! It was only a few cm, but it was still snow. Over the day the snow has been piling up and now we have about a half inch. I hope that it will keep snowing for the rest of the day so we can sled down our grandparents hill:) Here are some low quality pictures I took.

Helicopter parts

I was going to post links to the products that I was looking at getting for my helicopter, but three of my five bookmark links are bad because the website has been updated. I had links for an itsy bitsy video camera and two motors but they are worthless now :( I still have links for a miniture microphone and batterys. I am not making much progress but hopefully I will have more time durring the summer. Today I have been trying to think up a name for it but I could use a little help. If you have any good ideas make a comment.

Unfortunatly, the snow melted Monday morning. All we have goten latly is rain. Oh well, hopfuly we will get more snow on Christmas.

Today we got some hail then we got half an inch of snow! The news says that all the schools around here are closed so there is a posssabilaty that we will get a snow day tomorrow! We lost like 3 big branches and two small trees(10 ft. and 20 ft.). I hope that we will get more snow tonight!

Thanksgiving

I know that this is realy late, but I didn't have time to do it yesterday, and I realy don't have time to do it now... Anywho we almost had to stay home this year because Heather had expactorated a week before and Hannah did the same the night before we were going to leave so we were delayed one day. So we got to Cathlamate (where one of our pairs of grandparents live) and had our thanksgiving "dinner" (lunch). The next day we had almost nothing to do so Grandpa "had to" get a movie. It turned out to be "The Music Man". If you haven't seen it don't, it is not worth your time. It is a movie about this guy who pretends to be a band leader and he makes lots of money off people who belive him. Then we packed so we could go to a debate contest. At the debate I was a timmer and I timed two or three of the four rounds. So that was our Thanksgiving weekend.

About a week ago I went to a hobby shop to look at parts, but they didn't have any motors so I will have to get one off the internet.

It has been kind of crazy arround here these last few days. On Thursday we had the Halladays over for dinner and I had to go to bible study (but I had forgoten). So when my friends got here to pick me up I had to grab my bible and go. When I got back I had to get ready for a CDX confernce the next day. So I ended up staying up until 12:30. I got up at 5:00am and finished geting ready. When I got home Josiah had spilled two gallons of milk. So we had to clean that up. On Saturday I was told that I was going to go fundraising for our Science Olympiad team. Kind of borring but it still is a post. :)

Berk's Game

We played the Berkompas's game again tonight. The gaurd lost each of the two games we played. I think that the Berks have a much better place to play it but it may be that we need to change it around some more.

I think that the server is shut down every now and then because it did the same thing to Skystrider.
